In every soul is a window,
An opening in every life
Through which our moments show
Mysteries hide behind those windows,
Travelers see but a moment of life
That from the opening flows
A glimpse through the glass
Represents what’s within
To all those who pass
Some windows gleam with light,
Reminding pilgrims of home;
Their bright panes the weary invite
Some windows are shuttered and dark,
Ornate without but haunted within;
Tight-drawn curtains are their mark
Some windows though shaded
With grief and struggle,
Still shine with light un-faded
May my windows be bright,
Filled by God from within,
And hearten others to shine in the night
I believe that it takes a lifetime to truly understand a person. We see fragments but never the whole thing.
